The Veto Vault turns your fantasy league’s stats into a satirical weekly newspaper. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to delete it. Short version: we read your league to write the paper, we never sell data, and you can delete everything.
What we collect
- Account: the email address (or phone number) you sign in with.
- ESPN connection: two ESPN login cookies,
SWIDandespn_s2, sent by the Veto Vault Connector extension or pasted by you. They’re stored encrypted and used only to read your league. - League data: what ESPN shows to league members: team names, scores, lineups, standings, transactions, trade and veto activity. We don’t read league chat. The paper uses team names, not managers’ real names.
- Billing: if you subscribe, Stripe handles payment. We store your Stripe customer id and plan, never card numbers.
The Veto Vault Connector (browser extension)
- It reads only the
SWIDandespn_s2cookies on espn.com. It doesn’t read your browsing history, other sites, or page content. - It sends them to thevetovault.com only when you connect a league on our connect page, and again when ESPN refreshes them, so your connection keeps working.
- On your computer it stores a per-league sync key and a fingerprint (hash) of the last cookies sent, never the cookies themselves.
- Uninstalling it stops all of this. Your league stays connected until you delete it (below).
How we use it
- To read your league from ESPN (read-only; we never change anything) and write your league’s paper.
- League stats (team names, scores, transactions) are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to write the articles. ESPN cookies and your contact details are never sent to it.
- To sign you in, run your plan, and contact you about your account.
We don’t sell or share personal data for advertising.
Who processes it
Supabase (database, sign-in), Cloudflare (hosting), Anthropic (article writing), Stripe (payments), and our email/text provider (sign-in codes). Each only gets what it needs for its part.
Who can see your paper
Each league’s paper lives at an unlisted link. Anyone with the link can read it; it isn’t listed or indexed by search engines.
Keeping and deleting data
- We keep league data and papers while your league is connected.
- The publisher (whoever connected the league) can delete it anytime from its page in the dashboard. That removes its papers and its stored ESPN cookies right away and cancels its plan.
- To delete your account, email us.
